The marketplace at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the largest commercial venture in the airport's history, has been named "Commercial Place of the Year 2025" by Nordic Commercial Spaces & Communities (NCSC).
The competition, which is organized by the trade association Nordic Commercial Spaces & Communities (NCSC) with the aim of supporting development and highlighting the most innovative and creative initiatives in the industry, took place on Thursday evening. An expert jury named Marknadsplatsen in Terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden's largest airport, the winner in the category "Commercial Space of the Year < 25,000 m²".
The marketplace is praised for, among other things, professional development work and a creative business model that focuses on consumer benefit and competitiveness, which in turn creates an attractive, flexible and inviting environment for shopping, food and service.

"We are happy and proud that Marknadsplatsen has been named Commercial Place of the Year 2025. In working with Marknadsplatsen and changing the commercial offering at Arlanda, we have listened to the various wishes of travelers, and this is a nice confirmation that we are investing in the right things. Our goal is to make shopping, food and drink part of the traveler experience, and here at Marknadsplatsen, people from all over the world encounter a wide range of restaurants that suit many different needs and a variety in product range, price categories and brands - both Swedish and international," says Charlotte Ljunggren, Director of Marketing and Commercial Development at Swedavia.
“An attractive commercial offering is not only important for the traveler's experience, but also contributes to our ability to maintain competitive airport fees and, in the long run, strengthened accessibility both within Sweden and from Stockholm to the world,” continues Charlotte Ljunggren.
As the winner in the Commercial Space of the Year < 25,000 m² category, Marknadsplatsen will participate in the NCSC Nordic Awards competition in Stockholm in September 2025, where the winners from all Nordic countries will meet in a grand final.
