Ash rain from the Etna volcano – airport closes

Remove

Sicily's second largest city, Catania, has suspended all incoming and outgoing flights after ash rain erupted from the active volcano Mount Etna., reports La Repubblica.

Incoming planes are now being redirected to other airports.

Loud noises could be heard as early as Sunday morning and volcano experts at the Etna Observatory cannot carry out any observations at the moment due to a rain cloud obscuring the peak of the volcano.
