Aviator Airport Alliance has signed a new long-term ground handling agreement with Lufthansa Group at Bergen, Trondheim and Tromsø airports. The agreement will be implemented in phases during the spring of 2027 and will cover full ground handling including de-icing, corresponding to approximately 1,760 aircraft turns per year.

The introduction will take place in three stages. First, Aviator will take over ground services in Bergen on February 1, 2027. This will be followed by Trondheim on March 28 and Tromsø on April 1.

The assignment includes full ground handling for the Lufthansa Group, including passenger and baggage handling and de-icing.

According to Aviator, the contract covers a total of approximately 1,760 aircraft turns per year at the three Norwegian airports.

“Full ground service on this scale requires precision and consistency, and we are ready to deliver from day one,” says Peter Stackeryd, CEO of Aviator in Norway.

The agreement will therefore not come into effect at all airports at the same time, but will be rolled out gradually:

Bergen: February 1, 2027
Trondheim: March 28, 2027
Tromsø: April 1, 2027

Once the final phase is completed, Aviator will handle Lufthansa Group's ground services at all three airports.

Following new Lufthansa agreement at Landvetter

The Norwegian agreement follows a new contract between Aviator and Lufthansa Group in Sweden.

Aviator has recently signed a four-year agreement for ground services for the Lufthansa Group at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.

The company is thereby strengthening its collaboration with the Lufthansa Group at several Nordic airports.

Operating at 15 Nordic airports

Aviator states that the company operates at 15 airports in the Nordic region and works for airlines such as SAS, Norwegian, Icelandair, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Finnair, Air France-KLM and Turkish Airlines.

The operations include passenger and baggage handling, de-icing, cargo handling and other ground services.

Aviator is part of the Avia Solutions Group.
