What should you absolutely not forget to pack in your suitcase? Travel agency Ticket lists the most important things to pack for your summer vacation – from smart gadgets that can save the day to simple tricks that save space in your bag.

As summer approaches, many Swedes are heading out on a long-awaited vacation – but before the trip begins, the classic challenge remains: packing the right things. What do you really need to be ready for both sunny beach days and unexpected situations? Ticket has compiled a list of tips based on common questions from travelers – with both classic tricks and smart little gadgets that can make a big difference.

“We often get questions about how to pack smart, especially from those who want to travel light but still be prepared. Of course, there are certain things that you should always bring – passport, sunscreen and swimwear – but we also notice that many people ask for tips on less obvious things that can be invaluable once you are there,” says Tiyoneh Jah, PR and communications manager at travel agency Ticket.

Pack like a pro – 15 smart things you shouldn't forget:

  1. Travel adapter with USB ports – for charging multiple devices simultaneously.
  2. Travel-sized power bank – practical on long trips.
  3. Mini beach mat – Thin and foldable, perfect for the beach without taking up space.
  4. Cloth bag for dirty laundry – keeps the rest of the bag fresh.
  5. Quick-drying towel – suitable for beach, pool and picnic.
  6. Digital copies of passports and tickets – for safety reasons.
  7. Mini first aid kit – plasters, rehydration solutions, allergy tablets.
  8. Packing bags/compression bags – keeps the bag organized and airy.
  9. Foldable shopping bag – useful as an extra bag or for the beach.
  10. Waterproof mobile phone bag – Protects the mobile phone against water and sand.
  11. Noise-canceling headphones or earplugs – for peaceful travels and better sleep.
  12. Mini bottles of sunscreen, hand sanitizer and mosquito repellent – practical and hand luggage friendly.
  13. Extra bag for wet swimwear – simple solution that makes a big difference after a day at the beach.
  14. Foldable cooler bag with ice packs – bring food and drinks to the beach/excursions and save money.
  15. Towel clips – so the towel doesn't blow off the sun lounger.

Packing well isn't just about what you bring – it's also about how you pack. Roll your clothes instead of folding them to save space and prevent wrinkles, use packing bags to keep your bag organized, and always pack a small toiletry bag with essentials in your carry-on. Should your checked luggage be delayed, at least you'll have the essentials close at hand – and your vacation can begin without stress.
