During the recent Spain Talks event in Stockholm, organized by the Spanish Tourist Office, Escape Travel was recognized with an award. As a leading hiking organizer, Escape Travel produces sustainable tourism through active trips where the body handles most of the transportation and small-scale local businesses benefit from the exchange at the destination.

On September 18, 2024, the first edition of the Spain Talks event was held in the Nordic region, with the theme "Caring for the Future. Escape Travel in Norway won the Best Experience award for the hiking trip to Sierra Nevada with the justification:

The jury praised the proposal for combining elements that minimize environmental impact while maximizing social and economic benefits for the area. Their activities also involve local people and micro-enterprises at a highly sustainable level.

During tonight's awards ceremony, Escape Travel's partner JWA Tours with Jakob Aarsheim was also awarded for the sustainable hiking trip in the Basque Country, which has been a best-selling trip at Prima by Escape for several years.

Escape Travel Sweden's Marketing Manager Susanna Silverklo:

– The collaboration with JWA is a long-term and dedicated refinement of experiential travel to Spain for all the senses. We experience the destinations with our whole body when we hike and cycle in the Basque Country, Rioja and Andalusia.
