British tour operator Thomas Cook, which collapsed last fall as a result of heavy debts, could make a comeback. The company could be reborn as an online travel agency, writes the Guardian.

After the collapse, the remainder of Thomas Cook was bought by Chinese conglomerate Fosun, which has since repeatedly stated that it wants to relaunch the business online. Before this can be done, however, approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority is required, but Fosun is also said to be awaiting any new travel restrictions as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic before putting the plans into action.

Fosun bought Thomas Cook for £11m in November last year, gaining access to the 179-year-old company's brands, websites and software. Fosun already owns a number of other British companies, including Club Med and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
