Danish airline Jet Time is filing for bankruptcy, Danish media reports. The company flies for charter company TUI in the Nordic countries, among other things.
According to a press release from Jet Time, it is the restrictions on travel and flights in the wake of the coronavirus that have weighed on the company. The bankruptcy petition will be filed on Tuesday, writes BT quoting the Ritzau news agency.
In a separate press release, the airline's owner Lars Thuesen said that a new company called Jettime had recently been registered. Some of the assets from the old Jet Time will be used in the new company, including some employees, five Boeing 737 aircraft, technical platforms and take-off and landing permits.
On the Swedish website of travel company TUI, Jet Time is listed as one of the airlines they use on the Copenhagen - Gran Canaria route.
