The state-owned train operator SJ reports a loss of SEK 512 million for the first quarter of the year. This can be compared with the loss of SEK 101 million during the corresponding quarter last year.

Net sales fell to SEK 1.3 billion, down from SEK 1.9 billion a year earlier.

The regulation that limits how many seats on trains can be sold is affecting the development, according to SJ.

“The strong limitation in the number of trips sold due to the corona pandemic led to a travel trend in the first quarter of minus 63 percent,” writes SJ.
