American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has paid Alaska Airlines the equivalent of $160 million (around SEK 1.7 billion) after a door plug came loose from a plane three months ago.
The money will cover both losses, lost revenue and service costs.
Alaska Airlines says it expects additional compensation without specifying an amount because the settlement is confidential.
In a court document, the airline states that it expects a loss of between $1.05 and $1.15 per share in the first quarter and that 95 cents of the loss per share is due to the accident.
It was on January 5 that an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing after a door plug came loose.
No one was injured in the accident. The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) concluded in its investigation in February that missing bolts were the cause of the accident.
