It has been difficult to start flights to Gällivare and Arvidsjaur after Nextjet's bankruptcy.
The ambition was to speed up the procurement process and thus quickly get the plane into the air.
The idea was to have air traffic back up and running before the fall. The Swedish government has wanted to see exemptions from EU procurement rules in order to get flights back up and running. However, a statement from the EU is still pending, according to SVT.
”"We are having discussions. I have received a letter back and we have had people from the Government Offices on site to be able to have a dialogue about getting planes into the air more quickly," says Infrastructure Minister Tomas Eneroth (S) in a comment.
The Swedish Transport Administration currently believes that traffic will start on September 15. In the meantime, the authority is arranging ground transfers to and from other airports.
