Blue Lagoon Resort in Iceland temporarily closes after the island was hit by about 1,400 earthquakes in 24 hours, writes The Guardian

Now there are also fears of subsequent volcanic eruptions.

The Blue Lagoon hot spring is therefore choosing to remain closed for a week as a precaution.

Since October 25, there have been around 22 thousand earthquakes in the southwestern parts of the island.
