American aircraft manufacturer Boeing delivered 763 aircraft in 2017, which was one plane more than the previous record from 2015, CNBC reports.

The production meant the company met its own goals of delivering between 760-765 aircraft in 2017.

The company booked orders for 912 new planes and the order backlog was at a record high of 5,864 aircraft at the end of the year.

According to the company, it was the sixth year in a row that Boeing delivered more planes than its European competitor Airbus.
