Turkish Airlines has reached an agreement with aircraft manufacturer Boeing on compensation for the 737 Max model, which has been grounded after two crashes that killed 346 people.
The airline does not state the amount involved, but according to the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet it is $225 million, of which $150 million is compensation and $75 million is for spare parts and training, among other things.
Turkish Airlines is one of several airlines that have requested compensation from Boeing since the model was grounded in March. US carrier Southwest Airlines said earlier in December that it had received compensation from Boeing for some of the estimated $830 million in revenue losses in 2019.
