The US Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, and the National Safety Board are investigating Boeing after a door plug came loose on an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft.

Now the Civil Aviation Authority states that the inspection be expanded and that Boeing should be investigated on a broader level and not just look at the current aircraft model. Technicians and analysts will also review how Boeing manufactures its planes, as well as the subcontractor Spirit AeroSystems.

During the investigation, the Civil Aviation Authority has banned airlines from flying all 737-9 MAX planes that have door plugs.
