American aircraft giant Boeing is investing another $450 million, just over SEK 4 billion, in Wisk Aero, which manufactures electric air taxis.
Wisk Aero, which currently has around 350 employees, will use the money for recruitment and to start production. The company aims to offer commercial air taxis within five years.
Boeing launched Wisk Aero in 2019 together with Kitty Hawk, which is a flying taxi company backed by Google co-founder Larry Page.
According to analysts, the flying taxi market could be worth $150 billion, equivalent to almost SEK 1,400 billion, by 2035, reports the news site The Verge.
