Boeing is being investigated after reports that the company's own inspections of the 787 Dreamliner model have not been carried out properly and that employees have allegedly falsified inspection documents.

This is announced by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

According to an email from a responsible department manager, some employees are alleged to have violated the rules by marking a mandatory test as having been performed even though it had not been performed. However, he claims that this is not considered to constitute a direct safety hazard.
