A passenger plane was forced to turn around and land at Denver Airport after an engine hood fell off and hit a wing flap during takeoff. This incident also involved a Boeing plane. The plane – a Boeing 737-800 belonging to Southwest Airlines – landed safely and was towed back to the gate.
The destination was Houston, according to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA will investigate the incident, which occurred on Sunday morning, local time. The US aviation giant Boeing has been under scrutiny since a high-profile accident in which a door plug fell off one of the company's more modern planes, the 737 Max model, in January.
