Aircraft manufacturer Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg said at a conference in California organized by Morgan Stanley that the company still aims for the accident-stricken 737 Max aircraft to start flying again at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
Boeing has no plans to change its production plans. Muilenburg stressed that ultimately it is regulators who decide when the grounded planes can start flying again.
Boeing plans to continue producing 42 737 Max aircraft per month and increase the level to 57 aircraft per month by the end of next year.
Boeing shares rose 3.6 percent on Wall Street on Wednesday and the stock is now trading at its highest level since April.
