According to the yet-to-be-confirmed plans, the company will manufacture 57 aircraft per month from June, five more than before.

The five additional planes are important for increasing profit margins for the company's most popular jet and most profitable product. The more planes produced per month, the less the company needs to pay its subcontractors.

The plans are part of Boeing's struggle to keep up with its European competitor Airbus, which manufactures 60 planes in the A320 family per month.

Boeing has only officially said that they will increase the production rate sometime during the year, but has not released any further details.
