The US Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, remains of the opinion that the Boeing 737 Max is not yet ready for certification, CNBC reports.

The authority has publicly said that it intends to take its time before deciding that the aircraft is safe.

”The FAA has not completed its review of the 737 Max design changes and related pilot training. The agency will not approve the airplane for continued service until it has completed several rounds of rigorous testing,” the FAA said in a statement. This is the third time in two weeks that the FAA has issued the same statement.

It comes after Boeing indicated earlier this month that customer deliveries could resume in December following FAA certification.

Boeing has stated in a comment to CNBC that it continues to stand by its guidance of having the 737 Max back in service by the end of January.
