Teenager threatens to bomb plane

A now 18-year-old man has been sentenced to a suspended sentence for, among other things, data hacking after hijacking a Twitter account and using it to threaten to bomb an airplane, writes Norrköpings Tidningar.

The teenager hijacked the account at the end of August 2017 and then threatened to bomb an airplane. An airport was also to be blown up, and SAS, among others, had to take several unnecessary security measures.

The police managed to track the 18-year-old via his IP address and the man admitted that his purpose had been to have the hijacked account closed.

He has also been convicted of overloading and disrupting the wireless network at his high school twice using his phone or student computer. The 18-year-old is also said to have participated in two attempted network attacks.
