British Airways CEO Alex Cruz is leaving his post, owner company IAG writes in a press release.

The announcement follows the appointment of IAG's new CEO, Luis Gallego, who took over from Willie Walsh in the autumn.

Alex Cruz will be replaced as CEO by sister company Aer Lingus' current chairman and CEO Sean Doyle.

At Aer Lingus, current Chief Operating Officer Donal Moriarty will take over the helm in an interim solution until a permanent replacement is found.
