British Airways is preparing to cancel all flights on Monday and Tuesday after talks with the British Airline Pilots Association broke down.

This is reported by Bloomberg News, citing sources with insight.

A spokesperson for the airline would not comment on whether any flights would be canceled, but British Airways operates around 850 flights per day.

However, a spokesperson from the union commented on the development and said that the strike will take place, but emphasized that they are still open to negotiations with the airline, which until now has "refused discussion.".

The conflict stems from a dispute over salary that started last year. 

”BA is making huge profits as a result of the hard work and commitment of its staff, including the sacrifices made during difficult times,” the union said in a statement at the time, continuing: 

”Thankfully, BA is no longer in a fight for survival and thus, like the airline’s senior managers and directors, pilots deserve a small fraction of this profit via, for example, a profit-sharing scheme.”
