The airline British Airways is now making a mistake after hackers accessed information about 380,000 customers' payment cards.

In full-page advertisements in several British newspapers, an apology has been issued and full compensation has also been promised for those who may have been affected.

For the airline, the revelation is particularly embarrassing as just over a year ago the company suffered another major data breach at its main airport, Heathrow, which left 75,000 passengers stranded.

According to the airline, hackers have reportedly accessed, in addition to names and email addresses, also credit card details regarding bookings made between August 21 and September 5. On the London Stock Exchange, the market also reacted with a decline in the share price of almost three percent at lunchtime.
