In a market characterized by major challenges and changes, Lingmerths continues
its focus on tomorrow's business traveler. For just over two years, the company has been focusing its
business exclusively aimed at business travelers and their specific needs. Now it is launching
also a new brand for the events and meetings business area.
The travel industry went through something of a roller coaster ride during the Corona pandemic. The consequences are
continue to be felt by the industry across the entire supply chain with economic challenges and
personnel shortages as two clear examples. In Europe we have seen several times over the past year
airports that have been forced to close because they cannot guarantee safety due to a lack of personnel.
Travelers have had to adapt to a more uncertain market with a completely new pricing landscape. Several major
players in the travel industry have either gone bankrupt, been forced into restructuring or have been
bought out. Something that has partly redrawn the landscape in the industry.
With over 70 years in the industry, Lingmerths is one of the players that is going against the grain thanks to
its financial stability. The company has been able to use the transition to invest in recruiting new
competence and further specialization of the business. Two years ago, the decision was made to
discontinue the private travel offer. As part of this development, Lingmerths is now being placed
offering for Events and professional meetings under its own business area and new brand
Eventity. The offering for business and public travel remains under Lingmerths.
Helena Zar Vallin, CEO of Lingmerths, sees that market developments point towards increased
need for a competent travel and event partner.
”The coronavirus pandemic highlighted how sensitive the system is and that travel and meetings
may not always be as simple and obvious as we are used to. We are convinced that
Digitalization and new technology will continue to have great importance for both travelers and
meetings. But studies we have conducted show that many customers still want a
specialist partner they can talk to and get advice on a fairly complex
external situation,” says Helena.
There is much evidence that both travel and meetings are becoming more of a management and policy issue. Not least
driven by sustainability aspects.
”The actual purpose of the trip or meeting comes into more focus,” says Pia Brauer-Kraft,
business area manager for Eventity.” Industry events and commercial meetings are highlighted in several
studies as an important part of the purpose of future business travel, she continues. The year
after the pandemic, the market for meetings and events exploded. This shows how important it is
The human encounter is for the development of both people and companies.”
Pia sees a future where meetings and events will be a matter of priorities driven by both
cost and sustainability aspects.
”"But that will in turn make the meeting more exclusive and significant. Our ambition is to be
a partner with specialist knowledge who can guide in the new landscape,” summarizes Pia
In connection with the launch of the Eventity brand for the meetings and events business area,
also the company name from Lingmerths Travel Agency Lingmerths Group.
”The name change itself is quite undramatic,” says Helena Zar Vallin. ”But it gives us a
clearer platform, with two areas of expertise, to act from,” she continues.
”"During the autumn, Lingmerths will present further news, which feels incredibly exciting."
exciting and inspiring,” concludes Helena.
