50,000 members of the American cabin crew union APFA are demanding stricter checks on passengers after the coronavirus outbreak.
The union representing staff from airline giants such as American Airlines and United Airlines lists several demands for better procedures to stop the spread of viruses.
Among other things, they want all personnel on board an aircraft to be kept informed about the outbreak, that they should be taught practical measures if someone shows symptoms and learn to recognize the signs that can reveal whether a person is affected, reports Reuters reporter David Shepardson and CNBC.
