Half of the EU population has received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and is thus fully vaccinated, according to a calculation from the AFP news agency.
Almost 224 million people in the 27 member states of the Union have thus received both injections.
Spain tops the league, where nearly 60 percent of the population is fully vaccinated so far, followed by Italy, France and Germany.
The EU has a total population of 446 million people.
