Card readers are down across the country

Remove

Card terminals were down across the country during the afternoon. Shortly before 2 p.m., the manufacturer Nets announced that the problem had been resolved, several media outlets reported. A fault in a fiber cable is said to have caused the disruptions.

The outage meant that customers were unable to pay. The card readers are used for online and mobile payments for Visa, Mastercard and others, and in total around 300,000 merchants have Nets card readers.

It is not yet known how many people were affected by the problems.

”"I can't say it's everyone, but it's many," says Sören Winge at Nets to Expressen.
