Several airports in the UK have been hit by technical problems, causing chaos and long queues. According to The Telegraph The problem is national and affects more or less all airports in the country.

The error appears to be in the electronic passport controls. Several airports have now started to do the checks manually instead. It is still unclear what is behind the error.
