Thousands of passengers were temporarily stranded at Germany's second-largest airport in Munich on Tuesday morning after a person took a different route through security and instead went through an emergency exit, reports The Independent.

Terminal 2 and parts of Terminal 1 were closed for security reasons, according to Lufthansa, and passengers who had gone through security were told to go back and go through it again. After a brief period of chaos, the terminals were able to reopen. It is unclear how much delay the incident caused.

Around 130,000 people pass through the airport on a typical day, which is one of Europe's busiest, writes The Independent.
