One of China's largest airlines, China Eastern, will return to Stockholm Arlanda Airport in June 2026, with a new direct route to one of the country's largest hubs, Shanghai Pudong International Airport. China Eastern will be an important addition to the offering at Stockholm Arlanda, connecting the Swedish capital with Shanghai, China's financial and commercial hub.

Shanghai is China's largest city, a global financial and commercial hub and home to one of the world's busiest ports. China is Sweden's largest trading partner in Asia, and Shanghai is the base for many large Swedish companies. The new route will also be of great importance to the tourism industry, and valuable and time-critical cargo will benefit from shorter and faster delivery times. In addition, the route will serve as an important connection to the rest of China and Asia thanks to China Eastern's extensive network.
Starting on 22 June 2026, China Eastern will operate Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) – Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
