Since 5:00 a.m., Frankfurt Airport has been at a standstill after climate activists entered the runways and glued themselves to the asphalt, reports local newspaper Südhessen.news.

Both arrivals and departures were canceled and aircraft were diverted to other airports.

The police are on site and, with the support of a helicopter, are searching for more activists.
