Many Swedes want a Covid certificate to be able to travel abroad. The pressure on the Swedish E-health Authority's website covidbevis.se was heavy from the first hours of July 1, when the site was opened.

And the pressure continues. According to Swedish Radio Echo 2.5 million COVID certificates have now been issued. Many have applied more than once and in total around two million are believed to have applied for the certificates.

Since last Thursday, it is also possible to apply for another type of proof, a test certificate, which shows that you are healthy, and a so-called recovery certificate, which shows that you have had Covid-19, is coming soon.

This will likely increase the pressure even more, which the authority wants to avoid.

”"It is unnecessary to burden the system if you do not intend to use the Covid certificate," says Michel Silvestri at the E-health Agency to Ekot.

The proof of vaccination is valid for 90 days, but the certificate can be collected as many times as you like, free of charge. It should be presented at border crossings and should facilitate travel within the EU, but there is no guarantee of entry.
