Continued recovery for aviation

For the third month in a row, state-owned Swedavia's airports had nearly 2.9 million travelers in August.

A substantial increase compared to the same month in 2021, but levels are still far lower than before the pandemic.

The increase in the number of travelers in August this year compared to August last year was 89 percent. However, compared to August 2019, before the pandemic, it is a decrease of 24 percent.

Approximately 1.9 million of those passengers traveled from Arlanda Airport.

”"The recovery of aviation continues in August, with high travel pressure at our airports and especially at Arlanda. This applies to both international travel, which is normal for the season, but also domestic travel picked up during the second half of August in connection with the start-up of schools and jobs," says Swediavia's President and CEO Jonas Abrahamsson in a press release.
