The reason is suspicions that the owner family has engaged in tax crimes, among other things, reports the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

Documents and other evidence have been seized from the office in western Seoul.

The family is accused of not paying taxes when the company's CEO Cho Yang-Ho inherited assets from his late father.

Prosecutors also have suspicions about certain money flows in bank accounts belonging to the family and others in their family, and about embezzlement of money from the company.

The family has been in a lot of trouble lately. On Monday, Cho Yang-Ho's wife Lee Myung-Hee was questioned by police over allegations that she attacked employees and construction workers working at her home. The couple's two daughters, who held management positions in the company, have also drawn attention for mistreating employees.
