Spanish police have arrested a 20-year-old man who managed to book luxury hotel rooms for cheap by hacking a website.

The man is suspected of having manipulated the booking site's payment system, making it appear as if he had paid full price – equivalent to thousands of kronor – even though he had managed to reserve a room for as little as ten öre.

He also emptied the hotel minibars – without paying.

He was arrested during a four-night stay at a luxury hotel in Madrid. According to Spanish authorities, the hotel lost more than 200,000 kronor.
