A cruise ship has docked in Sydney, Australia, for the first time in more than two years, after a ban on ships docking imposed during the coronavirus pandemic was lifted.
On Monday morning, the ship Pacific Explorer made a dramatic entrance into Sydney, followed by pilot boats spraying water and a large banner reading: "We are home.".
International cruise ships were banned from Australia in March 2020 after an outbreak spread from the Ruby Princess to hundreds of people on land. 28 deaths, most of them in nursing homes, were traced to the outbreak.
