The American airline Delta has ordered ten additional A330neo from Airbus.

The list price is around $3 billion, but the airline is expected to pay significantly less than that, Reuters reports.

As part of the purchase, however, the airline is postponing the delivery of ten A350s, which are a more expensive model, to 2025 or 2026, writes Reuters.

The A330neo is powered by Rolls Royce's new Trent 7000 engine, which is less fuel-hungry than the previous version.

Following Friday's order, Delta has now ordered 35 A330neos and also has 40 earlier A330 models in its fleet.

Delta shares are down 0.7 percent on Friday.
