Most corona restrictions in Denmark will be lifted when all residents over the age of 50 are vaccinated, which is expected to happen in May. This is the announcement made by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) after a majority of the parties in the Folketing signed a long-term reopening plan.
”"However, it is based on certain assumptions that we can keep the infection down and that we use corona passports," says the Prime Minister.
It therefore looks like the Danes will soon be able to see the end of the restrictions of recent months.
The parties' agreement specifically states that the decisive factor for reopening is the time when everyone in the risk group, as well as everyone over 50 who wants to, has received their first dose of vaccine.
”"The risk of death and overloading of healthcare due to corona will decrease very significantly and society can be opened again," says Mette Frederiksen (S).
In concrete terms, this means that from May 6, Danes are expected to be able to visit restaurants, theaters and cinemas in the same way as before the pandemic. But this requires that you can show a so-called corona passport.
However, restrictions will continue to apply to larger events and nightlife, where there is a risk of super-spreading.
