Starting Monday, November 15, train announcements at the country's railway stations will be removed for incoming and departing trains following a decision by the Swedish Transport Administration.
The decision is based on the fact that the number of trains operating on the railway has increased and the train announcements should be clearer and only provide information on changed departures, says Tomas Gustafsson, head of unit at the Swedish Transport Administration.
Niklas Mattsson, chairman of the Swedish Association of the Visually Impaired, is disappointed and thinks that people are to blame for finding the announcements difficult.
