Ving's flights will resume on Tuesday, the travel company announced. "If you have a trip booked on Tuesday, your flight will proceed as normal," Ving wrote in a press release.
Many of Ving's customers were affected by flight cancellations on Monday following the owner Thomas Cook Group filing for bankruptcy early this morning. Now the travel company has found a solution.
”"We are still alive and continue to invest in the Nordic region as the Ving Group. We have managed to resolve it with Thomas Cook," says Ving's communications officer Charlotte Hallencreutz to TT.
In a press release with the headline "Vinggruppen i Norden is moving forward", the travel company points out that Vinggruppen i Norden has been an independent unit since 2007 and that the decision to resume air traffic was made by the company's board.
”"The Nordic Wing Group and the Nordic airline Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia have together been among the most profitable travel companies in the Nordic region for many years," it says.
For customers who have a booked trip on Tuesday, flights will proceed as normal, but with the addition: "If there is a schedule change, we will inform booked customers via text message. Customers who are at their destinations and waiting to return home will receive a schedule update via text message.".
Ving further admits that there has been some turbulence regarding payment at certain hotels in the company's destinations.
”"In the coming days, there may still be some problems, which we regret. We are in contact with the parties concerned to resolve this," it says.
