The summer months are Gotland's busiest months with several popular events attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors. The booking situation during peak summer weeks, weeks 25–33, is currently at the same level as the previous record year 2019.

– During the summer months, many people want to visit our island and Gotland often ends up at the top of lists of popular travel destinations, and this also seems to be true this year as the booking situation for the upcoming peak summer weeks is in line with, or just above, the previous record year of 2019, says Marcus Risberg, CEO of Destination Gotland.

Gotland is a popular travel destination, not least during the summer with several major holidays and events, such as Midsummer, Almedal Week (which this year has been moved forward by a week, and takes place on week 26 instead of week 27) and Medieval Week. During this year's Midsummer weekend, travel increased by just over five percent compared to 2019.

The combined booking situation for weeks 26 and 27 is up five percent compared to the corresponding period in 2019.

According to the press release.
