On October 26th, Detur will begin offering charter holidays directly from Umeå Airport. With entirely new owners in Aventura Rejser (Aventura Travel Group). The first destination to be launched is an autumn half-term charter to Larnaca in Cyprus, with a departure date of October 26th, in collaboration with Enter Air.
Travel continues to increase steadily after the pandemic years, and demand is high for both package holidays and scheduled flights. Detur, which is back with entirely new owners after its bankruptcy estate was bought by Danish Aventura Rejser (Aventura Travel Group), has strong confidence in the Swedish market's desire to travel and is once again offering package holidays directly from Umeå Airport. Just in time for the autumn break, the first destination is launching: Larnaca in Cyprus, well known for its blue sea and mild temperatures, but if there is high demand, more destinations will be launched continuously.
Detur collaborates with Enter Air, whose large fleet of aircraft is stationed in Finland during the winter months, enabling immediate expansion of services when required.
– I am very pleased to be able to welcome Detur back to Umeå Airport. Swedavia's goal is to facilitate travel and meetings, and to be able to expand the offerings from our airport is something we constantly strive for. I see Detur's indication that they want to invest heavily in northern Sweden as very positive, says Bengt-Ove Lindgren, Airport Manager at Umeå Airport.
– Last year's turmoil was extremely regrettable and damaged travellers' confidence in the old Detur. We are incredibly grateful and happy that people have actually given us the chance to show that we are something completely different from the old company. We are now aiming to offer exciting trips and destinations to travellers in northern Sweden – where significant resources will be invested to show that it is certainly not just from or via Stockholm that one can see the wider world, says Detur's Sweden manager Mattias Hallén.
In a first stage, a departure to Larnaca on 26 October 2023 will be launched, but if demand is high, Detur may add departures and destinations rapidly.
