A man was pronounced dead on a charter flight from Lanzarote earlier this week.

But after landing at Landvetter, medical personnel discovered, according to information toGP, that the man had a pulse. He was then taken to hospital.

CPR was initiated during the flight, but according to the travel company Tui, "the man's life did not appear to be saveable.".

The man was then secured with seat belts and blankets – and the flight continued for another hour to Gothenburg.

– In this case, it is determined that the man is lifeless and then we continue to the final destination, which was relatively close, according to the procedures in place, says Adam Györki, communications manager at Tui, to GP.

He cannot comment on the information that the man had a pulse.

– We can only state that with our assessment, and with the equipment we have on the flights, he appeared lifeless.

Neither Sahlgrenska Hospital nor the police have been able to provide any information about how the man fared.
