Anyone planning to visit the Almedalen Week in Visby this summer will be able to travel to and from Jönköping by plane. Departure from Jönköping just before lunch on Tuesday, June 27th and return from Visby on Thursday evening, June 29th.
Behind the initiative is Almedalsflyget.se, which is run by the Norrköping company Tadema AB in collaboration with Saab AB. The company has for the past 9 years, with interruptions for the pandemic years, served Visby during Almedal week. The company has offered several departures during Almedal week primarily from Linköping and is now adding Jönköping to the program. The flight time is about 35 minutes, which means that you can take the flight from Jönköping at 11.35 and have lunch in Visby.
– We have seen increased interest over the years with passengers from the Jönköping region who have traveled from Linköping. Which makes us believe there is sufficient demand for the line to be viable, says initiator Thomas Sjölander, Tadema AB.
Saab AB will fly with its own aircraft, a Saab 2000 with space for 50 passengers. Tickets are booked digitally via almedalsflyget.se, where you also have the option of booking a bus transfer between Visby Airport and Visby Port Terminal.
– Very pleased that we can offer this flight solution to those in our region who are going to Almedalen Week. We know that many are planning a trip and that there is great interest in being able to get there quickly and easily, says Henrik Älverdal, Commercial Manager at Jönköping Airport.
