Drama after pressure drop in SAS plane over Trøndelag

A Norwegian domestic plane with 115 passengers, en route from Oslo to Bodö in Northern Norway, was hit by a drop in cabin pressure on Wednesday afternoon and was forced to turn around and land at Trondheim Airport Vaernes instead.

No one was injured and it is unknown what caused the pressure drop that caused the oxygen masks above the seats to fold down and the aircraft to make a rapid descent and landing, reports NRK

”"An unusual incident on a passenger flight, which can be experienced as dramatic and unpleasant, but everyone should have received thorough information about the incident afterwards," says SAS's press manager in Norway, John Eckhoff, to NRK.

Many Norwegian domestic flights to and from Northern Norway pass over Jämtland County, which is the shortest route. This particular plane was just west of the national border, near Levanger, when it turned around to Vaernes. SAS points out that this is not an emergency landing.
