Dublin is following in the footsteps of Paris and Amsterdam and is trying to get a grip on car traffic in the city centre. The plan in Dublin is to only allow those who have an errand or live in the city centre to enter by car. At the same time, the city is investing in expanding the city's cycling infrastructure and dedicating more space to squares and meeting places.
Measures aimed at reducing car traffic are usually met with protests and dissatisfaction, but in Dublin the decision has been well received.
