The Dutch state has purchased 12.7 percent of the airline group KLM-Air France, according to the Bloomberg news agency.
The announcement comes after Dutch politicians waded into the power struggle within the group.
Dutch Finance Minister Wopke Hoekstra says the state plans to increase its stake to 14 percent. The French state already owns 14.3 percent of Air France-KLM.
”"There has simply been too little state influence in KLM for it to be possible to act in the best interests of the Dutch population," the finance minister told reporters in The Hague on Tuesday evening, according to Bloomberg.
