Anyone who has had to deal with a low-cost airline knows what a minor hell it can be to be properly compensated when your flight has been delayed or canceled.
To make handling easier, Consumer Europe is launching the flight calculator service — and it applies to all airlines, of course.
Under EU rules, passengers who experience a delayed, cancelled or overbooked flight may be entitled to financial compensation of up to €600 from the airline, in addition to on-site assistance from the company.
However, many people find it difficult to understand the rules, such as what they are entitled to claim and where to send the claim. The idea is to make all of this easier with the flight calculator. The service is accessible via www.konsumentverket.se.
Complaints about flights increased in 2017 for the third year in a row. In 2015, 16.3 percent of complaints were directed at flights, reaching 30.4 percent last year, according to a press release from Consumer Europe.
