The British low-cost airline Easyjet may get an American owner.
Easyjet has reached a preliminary agreement with investment company Castlelake, which has submitted a new proposal for a bid. This would value Easyjet at over five billion pounds, equivalent to just over 64 billion kronor.
Easyjet's board said in a statement that it was leaning towards recommending shareholders accept a bid of £6.90 per share if the actual bid comes in by August 3.
Castlelake, which manages assets specifically in the aviation industry, has previously made four proposed bids, all of which were rejected.
